High Temperature Paints and Coatings Do More Than Protect Metal Surfaces

TemperKote® Heat Resistant Paints and Coatings by Flame Control

NIAGARA FALLS, NY – Special high temperature protective paints and coatings for metal surfaces resist heat up to 1500 °F. Now here's what makes TemperKote® products even more remarkable.

"TemperKote® Hi-Heat® coatings were developed to bring color stability to the heat resistant coatings marketplace," says Flame Control Coatings sales spokesperson Ryan Naj. "Unlike most competitive coatings, "TemperKote® Hi-Heat® coatings can be applied over substrate like stainless steel, with no need for zinc-based primers, zinc or galvanized surfaces. Our products resist halides, sulfides, nitrates and metals known to cause stress corrosion cracking."

A special version, TemperKote® HS, allows application to hot surfaces or as they cool so that equipment can be painted at or near operating temperatures. This reduces downtime for painting.

"We have recently introduced a CUI paint," adds Naj. "TemperKote® CUI-HS is a special paint developed to prevent corrosion under insulation on piping and vessels that run at a high temperature and are insulated to prevent heat loss." Normally, the acidic or basic insulation will promote corrosion when the substrate cycles in temperature and traps moisture from condensation inside the insulation. TemperKote® CUI-HS will protect against those conditions better than competitive products and can be used as a high-build coating to compensate for pitted substrates. Additionally, the product can be top coated with TemperKote® products for surfaces like flanges, that will remain uninsulated.

TemperKote® INS, a composite ceramic insulation high heat thermal coating system, provides barrier protection to personnel and helps prevent or reduce condensation formation, all in one product. Microscopic air-filled ceramic particles blended with premium acrylic resins provide substantial temperature differentials in relatively thin films. TemperKote® INS eliminates the need for conventional insulation and jacketing for process equipment and piping.

Flame Control Coatings are recommended for all metal surfaces that become hot during use. Examples include: protection of refinery equipment, such as: crackers, heaters, and reformers. Also recommended: furnaces and ovens relating to steel mill equipment, as well as stacks, boiler and furnace casings, pipes, pumps, manifolds, exhaust, compressors, turbines, engines, heat exchangers, radiators, insulated and non-insulated storage tanks, insulated steel and stainless steel piping, vessels and tanks.
