PEACHTREE CITY—GA Halide-free thin film coating protects from corrosive chemicals, ensures ultra-purity at point of manufacture of semiconductors.

For fluid handling components relating to wet etching, stripping, cleaning, oxidizing and reducing environments, Everslik® 1201 improves process yields and reduces corrosion-related maintenance.

Pathways in semiconductor process systems require high corrosion resistance, low moisture contact, and high purity. “Unfortunately, stainless steel (316L) fails in many of these demanding environments,” says, Charles J. Beall, Division Manager of Everlube Products. “The result is increased maintenance, system contamination, prolonged equilibration times and poor analytical results.”

Everslik® 1201 is a thermally-cured, solvent-based, RoHS-compliant coating that utilizes a high molecular weight epoxy binder system. What makes the coating unique is its proven ability to resist chemical stress cracking or permeation in thin film, halogen-free.

Unlike fluorine-based ECTFE (Solvay HALAR®) or ETFE (DuPont Tefzel®) whose dry film thickness is 0.010 inch or more, Everslik® 1201 provides superior corrosion protection, outstanding chemical resistance, and extreme toughness and durability between 0.0003 and 0.0015 inch—ideal for improving surface performance of threads, fasteners, connectors and tight-tolerance fittings. “Its [Everslik 1201] non-reactivity with many chemicals means reduced levels of extractable, protected chip yields,” adds Beall.

Many of the Everlube® Products air-dry solid film lubricants are qualified to military and OEM specifications, such as MIL-PRF-46147C and MIL-L-23398.
